2025/023: Call for Financial Support for CMS COP15

As announced in Notification 2025/014, the 15th Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP15) will take place from 23 to 29 March 2026 in Campo Grande, Brazil.

The Secretariat is seeking funding to (i) cover the costs related to the participation of one representative at COP15 from those countries eligible for financial support, and (ii) produce COP-related communications materials.

Consistent with  paragraph 10 of Resolution 14.2 which sets forth the criteria for  eligibility for financial assistance of delegates to attend the COP, an estimated $450,000 is required.

In addition, and in line with the Programme of Work for the intersessional period between COP14 and COP15, $50,000 is needed to support the preparation of COP15-related promotional activities and communications materials such as professional audio-visual and written materials, as well as enhancement of the website and the COP newsroom amounts.

The Secretariat therefore invites Parties to explore opportunities to allocate resources to support full attendance and geographical representation of eligible CMS Parties and non-Party governments at COP15. Partner organizations are also encouraged to consider covering any shortfalls.
